It does not require branded polish for day-to-day dust.<\/p>\n    <ol class=\"sk-steps\">\n      <li><strong>Rinse or blow off grit first.<\/strong> Use a gentle stream of lukewarm water, a clean air bulb, or a very soft brush. Dry wiping a dusty lid is how most scratches start.<\/li>\n      <li><strong>Mix a weak wash.<\/strong> A few drops of mild dish soap in a bowl of lukewarm water is enough. Avoid soaps with grit, citrus solvents, or \u201cpower degreaser\u201d claims.<\/li>\n      <li><strong>Wipe with a wet microfiber cloth.<\/strong> Fold the cloth so you use a clean face. Use light pressure and straight passes, not tight circles over the same spot.<\/li>\n      <li><strong>Rinse the cloth and the surface.<\/strong> Soap film dries as streaks and attracts more dust.<\/li>\n      <li><strong>Dry with a second, dry microfiber cloth.<\/strong> Do not use heat guns, hair dryers on high, or paper towels.<\/li>\n    <\/ol>\n    <p>Water temperature should stay lukewarm. A dirty microfiber cloth is just a soft sandpaper.<\/p>\n  <\/section>\n\n  <section id=\"by-product\">\n    <h2>Advice by product type<\/h2>\n    <h3>Clear storage boxes and gift boxes<\/h3>\n    <p>Remove the lid and wash parts separately so grit does not collect in the hinge line. Dry the inner faces fully before closing. Trapped moisture plus dust looks like fog and is often mistaken for material haze.<\/p>\n    <h3>Collectible and retail display cases<\/h3>\n    <p>Take objects out first. Clean the case, then the shelf, then put items back with clean hands or cotton gloves. Fingerprints on the inside of a five-sided case are harder to reach than the outer skin. If the case has a sliding or magnetic back panel, use that opening instead of forcing a cloth through a tight front gap.<\/p>\n    <h3>LED display cases<\/h3>\n    <p>Power the lights off and let the enclosure cool. Do not spray liquid toward LED strips, drivers, or cable entries. Wipe panels with a barely damp cloth. Standing liquid in a channel can leave mineral spots that look like burn marks under a cool-white strip.<\/p>\n    <h3>Printed, frosted, or mirrored acrylic<\/h3>\n    <p>Treat printed faces more gently than raw clear sheet. Extra pressure can burnish UV ink or leave shiny tracks on a matte frost. On mirrored sheet, clean the face as usual and keep solvent away from mirror-coating edges if the coating is on the reverse side.<\/p>\n    <p>For custom fabricated boxes and cases, edge joints and solvent-welded seams should be wiped, not soaked. A pooled solvent cleaner can leave a white blush along a bond line.<\/p>\n  <\/section>\n\n  <section id=\"scratches\">\n    <h2>Haze, fingerprints, and light scratches<\/h2>\n    <p><strong>Fingerprints<\/strong> usually come off with the soap method. If a print remains, it is often oil plus micro-texture. Repeat the wash; do not jump to solvent.<\/p>\n    <p><strong>Haze<\/strong> after cleaning is often leftover soap, hard-water spots, or a cloth that was not clean. Rinse again and dry with a fresh cloth. If haze remains in a fine web pattern, that can be crazing from earlier chemical exposure. Polish will not reliably hide crazing.<\/p>\n    <p><strong>Light surface scratches<\/strong> can sometimes be reduced with a plastic polish system used in stages (coarse only if the mark is obvious, then fine, then a finishing gloss). Work a small test area first. Deep gouges that catch a fingernail are a fabrication or replacement issue, not a cleaning issue.<\/p>\n    <aside class=\"sk-callout\">\n      <p><strong>Quotable distinction:<\/strong> Cleaning removes soil. Polishing removes a thin layer of plastic. Do not polish a case every week. You will thin the gloss and make future scratches more visible.<\/p>\n    <\/aside>\n  <\/section>\n\n  <section id=\"faq\">\n    <h2>FAQ<\/h2>\n    <dl class=\"sk-faq\">\n      <dt>Can I use Windex or other glass spray on plexiglass?<\/dt>\n      <dd>Do not use it as a regular cleaner. Many formulas contain ammonia. Acrylic and branded sheet sold as plexiglass are the same family of material (PMMA). Use soap and water instead.<\/dd>\n      <dt>Is isopropyl alcohol safe?<\/dt>\n      <dd>A brief wipe with a dampened cloth is sometimes used to lift adhesive or oil, but it is not the best daily cleaner. Test a hidden edge. Do not flood joints or printed graphics.<\/dd>\n      <dt>Can I put an acrylic box in the dishwasher?<\/dt>\n      <dd>No. Heat, high-pH detergent, and racks can warp thin parts and frost the surface.<\/dd>\n      <dt>How do I cut static so the box stays cleaner?<\/dt>\n      <dd>After a wet clean, a plastic-safe antistatic cleaner or a barely damp microfiber pass helps more than dry dusting. Avoid rubbing a dry cloth hard in one direction; that can charge the sheet and pull dust back.<\/dd>\n      <dt>How often should a closed display case be cleaned?<\/dt>\n      <dd>Dust the outside when you see film. Open and clean the inside when you rotate objects, or every few weeks in a dusty room. Over-cleaning with dry cloths causes more wear than a monthly wet clean.<\/dd>\n      <dt>Does thicker acrylic scratch less?<\/dt>\n      <dd>Thickness mainly affects stiffness and span. Scratch resistance is a surface property.
